On January 30, 2008, the National Rural Health Association (NHRA) joined Divided We Fail, becoming the newest member of a powerful grassroots movement to put access to affordable, quality health care and long-term financial security on the first 100 day agenda of the next Administration and new Congress.
NHRA shares Divided We Fail's belief that now is the time to end gridlock in Washington and propel our nation's lawmakers to work together to find sensible, bi-partisan solutions to the health care challenges facing our nation.
"NHRA shares AARP and the Divided We Fail initiative's belief that far too many Americans, especially those in rural communities, either don't have health care or have health coverage that's at risk," said NHRA President Paul Moore. "By uniting forces with Divided We Fail, NHRA will ensure the voice of rural America is heard and our nation's leaders are compelled to take action on health care."
The NRHA is a national nonprofit membership organization with more than 18,000 members that provides leadership on rural health issues. The association's mission is to improve the health and wellbeing of rural Americans and to provide leadership on rural health issues through advocacy, communications, education, research and leadership. The NRHA membership is made up of a diverse collection of individuals and organizations, all of whom share the common bond of an interest in rural health.
