Divided We Fail in Full Force at Republican Debate in Durham

Divided We Fail was out in force at the Republican Debate on the campus of University of New Hampshire (UNH) in Durham on September 5th. Nearly everyone holding a Divided We Fail sign was a UNH student, just back from their summer vacations. While other UNH students were lined up around the block to buy their books, these activists – led by Divided We Fail coordinator and UNH student Sam Riemer – were doing their part to make sure the candidates addressed the important issues of health care and financial security.

Despite the strong showing of Divided We Fail at the debate, the candidates neglected to talk about health care and financial security issues. Media Relations Director Cecelia Prewett remarked in a public statement after the debate that the "90-minute discussion was an opportunity for the candidates to talk about the pocketbook issues that are dominating the minds of voters. Voters were poised to hear about how candidates are prepared to address the key pieces of a solid future: health care, pensions and Social Security."

As Divided We Fail travels the Granite State, one thing is clear. Voters are concerned about health care or financial security. And they want the candidates to address these issues.
