AAN Joins Divided We Fail

Dr. Linda Burnes Bolton, President of the AAN, signs the Divided We Fail platform.
On Saturday, November 10th, Linda Burnes Bolton DrPH, RN, FAAN, President of the American Academy of Nursing (AAN), signed onto the Divided We Fail platform, committing the support of AAN's 1,500 member nurses to the initiative.
Speaking at the American Academy on Nursing's 34th Annual Meeting and Conference, Dr. Burnes Bolton said, "AAN is proud to join AARP and Divided We Fail in urging that our nation's lawmakers come together to find a bipartisan solution to our nation's health crisis. I am confident that by raising our voices on the issues of health disparities in America, we can convince the next President and the next Congress to take action on this important priority."
"As nurses, we are committed to improving the health of all of our patients through preventative care and comprehensive treatment," added Dr. Burnes Bolton. "But, we can't help Americans get healthy and stay healthy if they are too afraid medical care will send them into the poor house."
The American Academy of Nursing anticipates and tracks national and international trends in health care, while addressing resulting issues of health care knowledge and policy. The Academy's mission is to serve the public and nursing profession by advancing health policy and practice through the generation, synthesis, and dissemination of nursing knowledge.
