In recognition of their generosity in teaching and helping others, current and retired educators and school personnel are invited to attend an AARP Driver Safety classroom course for just $5 in July and August (course is normally $12 for AARP members and $14 for nonmembers*).

The AARP Driver Safety classroom course is the nation's first and largest course designed for drivers age 50 and older. You'll learn proven safety strategies to maintain your confidence behind the wheel. Plus, you could get a great discount on your car insurance!**
How do I redeem the $5 offer?
You can find a classroom course by checking the course locator or by calling 888-AARP-NOW (888-227-7669). Registration is required and participants will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, as space is limited. To redeem the $5 offer, you must fill out and present the coupon (PDF) to the host organization or the volunteer instructor.
Why is AARP Driver Safety hosting this promotion?
AARP has a history of teacher appreciation. In 1947, Ethel Percy Andrus founded what became NRTA: AARP's Educator Community to address the economic challenges and health insurance needs of educators in retirement. The benefits she was able to provide retired teachers became so popular that non-educators sought the same member benefits. Therefore, 11 years later, in 1958, Andrus reached out to a broader audience by founding AARP.
Is the promotion valid for a discounted online course?
No. The $5 offer is only valid for the classroom course.
When can I take the course?
To receive the $5 classroom course, the entirety of the course must occur during the months of July and August. Two-day courses that start in June and finish in July or start in August and finish in September do not qualify for this promotion.
