An AARP Solutions Forum In Collaboration with Reconnecting America and The National Housing Trust
Wednesday, September 30, 2009
At this forum, PPI released Preserving Affordability and Access in Livable Communities: Subsidized Housing Opportunities near Transit and the 50+ Population and discussed how to coordinate housing, transportation and land use policy to develop livable communities. The report identifies growing challenges to preserving housing near transit in 20 major metro areas and offers policy recommendations for consideration. A second panel of experts discussed the relevance of this report to the Obama Administration’s emerging “Interagency Partnership for Sustainable Communities.”
