You are invited to attend a Brickfield Presentation featuring Professor Thomas Kolditz, of Yale University, on Wednesday, Oct. 29, from 10 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. Professor Kolditz will talk about AARP's multicultural journey and how AARP's core is transforming to adapt to a demographically and culturally diverse New Mainstream in a VUCA world. AARP was the subject of a leadership class case study conducted in 2013 for the Yale School of Management. AARP's executive leadership including A. Barry Rand, Jo Ann Jenkins, Lorraine Cortés-Vázquez, Nancy LeaMond and Emilio Pardo were interviewed.
Professor Kolditz will highlight:
- Leadership strategies that will enable AARP to reflect the overall demographics of America.
- Leading the multicultural agenda as the directional change required by AARP to act quickly and tap new groups.
- Engaging stakeholders within the organization to increase minority membership to reflect America's 50+ population trend.
Tom Kolditz is a Professor in the Practice of Leadership and Management and directs the core Leader Development Program at the Yale School of Management. A Professor Emeritus from the US Military Academy, he was responsible for Leadership, Psychology, Sociology, and Management programs at West Point for 12 years, and served as the founding director of the West Point Leadership Center. Professor Kolditz has presented his work on leadership in more than 200 organizations and universities worldwide. He serves as a senior adviser to the Future of Executive Development Forum and holds a BA from Vanderbilt University, three master’s degrees, and a PhD in social psychology from the University of Missouri.
