Every month, 250 million people play games on Facebook. That’s a lot of people, but it’s just a small portion of the 1.5 billion who use the site regularly to connect and share content. If you enjoy games on Facebook, there’s a tricky balance between playing and annoying your nongaming friends. Luckily, there are ways to “game” the system.

On the AARP TEK social media training page, you can see the step-by-step guide that takes you through Facebook app settings so you can choose to share to specific people or even just yourself to help limit who sees your posts.

If you know of a small collection of friends who play games on Facebook, you might want to consider starting a friend list so you can send game messages just to people who appreciate requests to gather extra points and items to move deeper into a game.

A few small steps that change the way you share can go a long way when it comes to staying friends with nongamers on Facebook.
