Have you ever been to “Grand Camp”? AARP Michigan and the YMCA are partnering for a unique camping experience for grandparents and grandchildren. On Sep. 7-9, grandparents, their children and grandchildren can enjoy a weekend together enjoying nature, fishing, arts and crafts, campfires, and much more.

You can be as active as you choose, or just enjoy nature at the Mystic Lake YMCA Camp located on 600 acres of private land 15 miles outside of Clare. The cost is $60 per adult, $30 per child for the weekend.

AARP Michigan and the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History in Detroit will host a Grandparents Day Celebration at the Museum Sept. 9. This free, annual event will feature many fun and interactive experiences for grandparents and grandchildren alike. Winners of the Grandparents Day Essay contest will be announced and special gifts will be given to the first 300 attendees.

For more information on any of these events, contact Kimberley Bishop at kabishop@aarp.org or 517-515-2268.
