Donna L. Yee is chief executive officer of the Asian Community Center in Sacramento, Calif., and a member of the AARP Caregiving Advisory Panel.

Donna L. Yee, Ph.D., is chief executive officer of the Asian Community Center (ACC) in Sacramento, Calif. The center is a nonprofit organization that enhances the quality of community life by identifying, developing and providing culturally sensitive health and social services for older adults.

ACC operations include a skilled nursing facility; community-based services that feature a Lifelong Learning and Wellness Program, ACC Rides Transportation Service, ACC Drop-In Respite & Caregiver Cooperative and a senior apartment community called ACC Greenhaven Terrace. In 2010, ACC also assumed sponsorship and management of Meals on Wheels by ACC, which provides home-delivered and congregate meals to seniors throughout Sacramento County.

She has 40 years of experience in long-term care. Before moving to Sacramento, her work at the National Pacific Asian Center on Aging and policy research at the Institute for Health Policy (Heller School, Brandeis University) focused on capacity building, Medicare access and related projects that addressed quality of care, client-centered care and service delivery issues in home care, adult day care, assisted living, case management, hospital services for the aged and other service settings.

Her health administration and clinical experience includes work at a public chronic care facility, On Lok Senior Health Services, and a home health agency in San Francisco. She received her M.S.W. from the University of Washington and her Ph.D. in Social Policy at the Heller School, Brandeis University.
