AARP's Medicare Question and Answer Tool

Does Medicare pay for home health aides?

Medicare parts A and B will cover limited home health services such as skilled nursing care or other therapy on a part-time or intermittent basis for people who are eligible for home health services. If you qualify for one of these skilled services, Medicare will also cover home health aides to assist you with limited hands-on personal care, such as bathing, using the bathroom and dressing.
