Side Dish: Mashed Sweet Potatoes
Colorful veggies like sweet potatoes help fight aging, cancer, and heart disease, because they contain a boatload of nutrients, including antioxidants.
Ingredients:
4 medium sweet potatoes, baked and peeled
½ cup orange juice
1 teaspoon orange zest
½ teaspoon cinnamon
Directions:
Mash sweet potatoes with orange juice, orange zest, and cinnamon. Reheat and serve. Makes 4 to 6 servings.
Dessert: Peach Tart

Ingredients:
For the crust:
2 cups pecans, finely minced
1 cup dates, finely minced
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
½ teaspoon cinnamon
Topping:
4 to 5 ripe peaches, peeled, pitted, and sliced thinly into wedges
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
⅓ cup honey
Directions:
In a food processor or blender, combine and process pecans, dates, vanilla, and cinnamon. Spread and press the mixture in a 9-inch tart pan to form the crust. Arrange peach slices over the crust and drizzle with lemon juice. Drizzle honey over peaches and sprinkle with cinnamon. Serve immediately. Makes 6 servings.
