Get Off the Couch, and Onto the Floor

If you're sitting on the couch watching TV, you're squandering perfectly good exercise time, says AARP health and fitness ambassador Martina Navratilova in this video.

You don't need fancy exercise gear and gyms to get fit, she advises. If you've got floor space and drive, you can do it with simple floor exercises

So hit the rug and try these with Martina:

  • The Bun Burner, for your hips and buttocks.
  • The Thigh Downsizer, for your legs and thighs.
  • Bent-Knee Push-ups, for your chest and arms.

 Aim for 10 to 12 repetitions, or "reps" of each exercise, adding more reps and intensity as you build strength.
