Access to Long-Term Services and Supports: A 50-State Survey of Medicaid Financial Eligibility Standards

This PPI Insight on the Issue by Lina Walker and Jean Accius provides a long-awaited update to existing data on Medicaid financial eligibility standards for nursing home and home and community-based waiver services for older persons and adults with disability. AARP Public Policy Institute and the Congressional Research Service surveyed all 50 states and the District of Columbia to obtain 2009 data on state selection of optional pathways for Medicaid eligibility, income and asset standards for eligibility, and cost-sharing and other post-eligibility financial requirements.
