AARP Joins Health Care and Patient Groups to Explain the Health Care Law

What does the health care law mean for you and your family? That’s a good question. The law can be difficult to understand — even confusing.

That's why AARP has teamed up with the nation's leading health care and patient organizations to form the Health Care and You Coalition.

The goal of the Health Care and You Coalition is to provide easy-to-understand information about the Affordable Care Act so you can make smart health care decisions for yourself and your family.

The coalition's website — HealthCareandYou.org — helps individuals, families, small-business owners, employees and health care professionals understand what provisions of the health care law are in place now, both nationally and in your state, and what changes will come into effect leading up to and beyond the law's full implementation in 2014.

Members of the coalition include AARP, the American Academy of Family Physicians, American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network, American College of Physicians, American Medical Association, American Nurses Association, Catholic Health Association of the United States and the National Community Pharmacists Association.
