The summer 2010 Fat to Fit Weight Loss Challenge ended Sept. 6. Thank you all so much for participating, and for making this a lively, and inspirational group!
I know some of you lost a lot of weight while others went up and down, but the important thing is that you came here to take control of your health and fitness, and that means you are on your way. I urge everyone to stick with their effort and to continue to participate in the Fat to Fit online community.
Prizes: We’ve chosen our five winners — who will receive prizes, per the Weight Loss Challenge Official Contest Rules. The top winner gets a one-year Gold’s Gym membership, with six months of personal training, and a trip to Orlando, Fla., to receive that prize at AARP’s member event.
The second-place winner gets a one-year Gold’s membership (no personal training), and the other three winners will receive the resistance chair home-exercise system from VQ ActionCare. We will post the names of the winners in the Fat to Fit online community.
In early August, one of our members asked others to post health or fitness tips in five words or less. Here are the top 10 responses (chosen by a purely subjective method):
- Eat less, move more.
- Walk, walk, walk, walk, walk.
- Love your body, life, health.
- Calories do count; count calories!
- No change is too small.
- Food does not equal love.
- Fresh fruits furnish fantastic fiber.
- It’s all up to me!
- Put yourself first. Live health.
- Move intensely, eat less densely.
It has been my real pleasure to lead this group. We drew nearly 18,000 members, and lost almost 3,000 pounds! I cannot stress enough how important it is for each of you to keep up your healthy habits. And do come back here often to share your stories, triumphs and (yes) setbacks with the Fat to Fit family!
