Team AARP Utah Rides Again

If you like to bike, it’s never too early in the year to start thinking about getting yourself in shape for your rides when spring arrives. And if you really like to bike, there will be no more enjoyable and meaningful experience than being a part of Team AARP Utah when it rides in its third consecutive MS Bike Ride.

The 2010 Bike MS: Harmon’s Best Dam Bike Ride takes place on Saturday, June 26 and Sunday 27 in northern Utah’s beautiful Cache Valley. The annual event, now in its twenty-fourth year, raises money to help people affected by multiple sclerosis by funding research, driving change through advocacy, facilitating professional education, and providing programs and services to help people with MS and their families.

Team AARP Utah is open to anyone who wants to participate in the two-day bike ride, with no limit on the number of riders, and no requirements as to how far you want to ride or if you want to ride just on Saturday and not on Sunday. All you need to do is raise a minimum of $250.

Come join the fun. To register and join our team: Team AARP Utah. Please put in the following password in all lower case: aarput. The password is case sensitive.

Help Team AARP Utah reach our goal of $10,000 for 2010 and have some fun at the same time.

MS is a chronic, often disabling disease that attacks the central nervous system, which is made up of the brain, spinal cord, and optic nerves. Symptoms may be mild, such as numbness in the limbs, or severe, such as paralysis or loss of vision. The progress, severity, and specific symptoms of MS are unpredictable and vary from one person to another. Today, new treatments and advances in research are giving new hope to people affected by the disease.
