AARP Missouri Seeks New Driver Safety Program Volunteer State Coordinator

The AARP Missouri Driver Safety Program currently has an opening for the State Coordinator position. This is the highest volunteer position in the program for the state, and requires both a commitment to the policies and direction of the AARP Driver Safety Program, and the ability to use effective leadership skills to advance the program at the state level.

While this position is an unpaid volunteer position, all business related expenses incurred while working for the program will be reimbursed. The State Coordinator will work closely with, and be supported by the AARP Missouri State Office, the DSP Regional Coordinator and the DSP National Office staff in DC, to oversee the day to day activities of the Missouri program.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • development of program goals
  • supervision of leadership volunteers
  • budget development
  • volunteer recruitment
  • conducting state meetings

Training will be provided. Candidates should have a working knowledge of computers and software and have access to email and the Internet.

The AARP Driver Safety Program is a flagship program. For more than 30 years, the AARP Driver Safety Program classroom course has helped millions of drivers improve their driving skills and stay safe on the road. We’d love for you to be a part of this success.

If you or someone you know is interested in applying for this position visit aarp.org/drive to apply by Oct. 10, and you will be contacted. To learn more about the opportunity, email Michele Baker at the AARP National Office at mbaker@aarp.org or call 202-434-6014.
