The District of Columbia State Office needs a new state president, and your help is needed to find the best candidate. The State President partners with the State Director to help achieve the Association’s vision, mission and strategic priorities in the state and serves as Chair of the AARP District of Columbia Executive Council. The Council provides strategic advice to the State Director and staff, to help plan in the areas impacting the lives and livelihood of D.C. residents aged 50+.
We are looking for an individual with a strong and active network of District of Columbia opinion leaders, leadership and interpersonal skills, strategic planning experience, a talent for networking and the ability to motivate and inspire others. Previous volunteer experience in the District is required, either with AARP or with other organizations.
The AARP State President position offers a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to make a positive difference in the lives of so many people. While this is an unpaid position, benefits include reimbursement of all expenses including travel throughout DC as well as training and support from the state, regional and national offices.
