AARP Kansas Wants You—To Be An Advocacy Volunteer

Volunteerism is an important and vital part of AARP.  Without volunteers we would not be our nation’s leading voice for older individuals.

Our mission: AARP is dedicated to enhancing quality of life for all as we age. We lead positive social change and deliver value to members through information, advocacy and service--is reached largely through the work of our committed volunteers who believe social change starts with them.

Now is your chance to join us at the state level by volunteering to work on advocacy issues in Kansas.

We are looking for people who want to make a difference in Kansas and have an impact on important issues.  We are looking for volunteers to become part of the AARP Kansas Advocacy team.

There are many options in the level of involvement. You can influence policy change in several ways. AARP advocacy volunteers can participate by:

  • Monitoring e-mail and sending emails to your legislators during the Kansas legislative session
  • Delivering information to your area legislators
  • Meeting with your legislators when they are at home
  • Meeting with your legislators when they are in Topeka

All AARP Kansas volunteers receive a thorough orientation and are offered many training options throughout the year.

“AARP believes that volunteer service is a unique and valuable contribution which benefits both the volunteer and society…” Our volunteers play a vast role in the success of our work in states and communities as we strive to create positive social change.

Please join us.  You can contact us by calling 1-866-448-3619 and asking for Andrea Bozarth or by e-mailing us at ksaarp@aarp.org.
