- Stories of real people exploring new adventures — such as a former geologist who became a guide in Yellowstone National Park — were showcased through "Your Life Calling with Jane Pauley." This AARP-produced segment airs monthly on the NBC Today show.
- Opportunities to tutor young children in reading, math and even manners will increase in 2012 thanks to the new AARP affiliated charity Experience Corps, one of the nation’s most successful service programs.
- To help people live their most authentic lives, AARP established a new online space for LGBT members. Launched in June to mark National Pride Month, the web portal "AARP Pride" featured smart, insightful news and information on topics such as caregiving, retirement planning, travel and entertainment. AARP members include the first generation of LGBT individuals to grow older "out" and living life to the fullest.
