Over the past few months, you may have received information regarding the Volunteer Technology Modernization Program, also known as the New Volunteer Portal. The goal is to create a powerful tool to more effectively support our exceptional volunteers across AARP programs. The New Volunteer Portal will replace the current patchwork of volunteer technology systems with clear, easy-to-use tools to improve your overall volunteer experience, all of which will be available on the New Volunteer Portal. We want to make each and every volunteer touch point—from recruitment to training to communications and administration—quicker and easier so that you can focus on your critical volunteer work!
We also want to make sure you have all of the information you need to feel prepared to use this tool. As we continue sharing updates with you over the next few months and beyond, look for our banner with the tagline, “The New Volunteer Portal: Connecting and Supporting AARP’s Volunteers!” This visual will help you quickly identify important information related to this critical volunteer initiative.
Key updates regarding the New Volunteer Portal include:
- The portal will be built through Salesforce.com.
- The portal is planned for release in October.
- Each volunteer program will plan robust and relevant training for volunteers to begin in the fall prior to, and continuing well after, the October launch.
Today, we are pleased to share that we are well under way, with significant progress being made on enhancing AARP’s volunteer experience.
