The AARP Nevada State Office needs roughly 1,000 volunteers to help us welcome AARP members from across the country to the AARP Life@50+ member event in Las Vegas in May 2013. In years’ past, Las Vegas has been one of the hottest destinations for members looking for fun at this event dedicated to showcasing the best of life at 50+; over 22,000 people attended the last Las Vegas event in 2009.
Volunteer assignments may include helping guests navigate the event, walking the floor, answering general information questions, greeting and providing directions, distributing the daily newspaper and other duties as assigned. You do not have to be from Las Vegas or Nevada to be considered for a volunteer role at Life@50+.
You Get Perks for Your Volunteer Work
Life@50+ is high-energy and lots of fun. As a volunteer, you’ll have the opportunity to work at least one shift, which is typically four hours, during the two-day event. And even better, you’ll get to see a number of the information sessions, cooking demonstrations, and live entertainment, as well as tour our amazing exhibit hall when you’re not “on the clock.”
Although no travel or lodging expenses are provided, volunteers receive free event registration, a free T-shirt and a meal voucher for each shift worked.
Where Do I Sign Up?
We’ll begin assembling our volunteer team in the first few months of 2013; though the event won’t be held until May 31 to June 1, 2013 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. To register as an AARP Life@50+ volunteer, you can either call AARP Nevada at 1-877-926-8300 or you can sign up online to be considered.
