The United States has only 5 percent of the global population. But it produces more than three times as much food as any other country in the world, and by some measures, 39 percent of the world's wealth belongs to Americans. Nevertheless, America has a hunger problem of sobering proportions.
AARP asked people to estimate how many Americans go hungry in a country of such abundance.
