Americans have been knitting socks and crocheting afghans for soldiers since the invention of needles and yarn. Although knitting goes in and out of fashion, knitting for our troops does not.
The Handmade Afghan Project is a group of over 300 volunteers who are reaching out to soldiers that were wounded in Iraq and Afghanistan. So far, this close-knit group has assembled over 5,000 afghans!
My Generation goes straight to the homefront where this generous group is turning war zones into comfort zones.
