Cool Cocktails, Sweet Teas and Fruit Refreshers For a Hot Event

We like our beverages to complement the seasons: some to turn up the heat when the weather's cold, and others to chill us under the hot sun.

Try these cool, refreshing drinks — the first five with alcohol, the last five without — for a dinner party on a warm evening, or make them by the pitcher for a bigger summer bash.

1. Bloody Mary

by Nigella Lawson

A classic spicy recipe that elevates plain chilled tomato juice with Worcestershire, celery salt, lemon juice and a splash of dry sherry.

Per serving: 260 calories, 0g saturated fat, 10g carbohydrates, 2g protein, 1g fiber

2. Prickly Pear-Pomegranate-Tini

by Sarma Melngailis

This sake-spiked drink boasts a beautiful pink color with a deliciously tempting combination of flavors. (The recipe calls for fresh pears and pomegranates, but go ahead and cheat with store-bought juice.)

Per serving: 240 calories, 0g saturated fat, 37g carbohydrates, 1g protein, 1g fiber

7. Cucumber Mint Water

This is the sort of ultra-hydrating refresher you might find at a luxury spa — but it's super-easy to prepare and a nice palate-cleanser as well.

Per serving: 5 calories, 0g saturated fat, 1g carbohydrates, 0g protein, 0g fiber

8. Watermelon Agua Fresca
