High levels of fats, sugars and salts are a recipe for nutrition disaster. However, many of the foods we eat are loaded with them. According to Dr. David Kessler, that’s the way food retailers and advertisers want it. Kessler, the former FDA commissioner, says since the 1980s food retailers and advertisers have worked to bypass the body’s natural desire to eat. His book—The End of Overeating: Taking Control of the Insatiable American Appetite—offers a simple food rehab to fight against the ever-present temptations. Prime Time Radio host Mike Cuthbert has more with Dr. Kessler.
