10 Top TV Theme Songs

Remember when series openers had catchy tunes and fun lyrics?

5. Gilligan's Island

Long before Survivor and Lost, this 1964-67 series demonstrated that being a castaway wasn't half bad. The theme song was written by series creator Sherwood Schwartz, who also composed the theme for his other hit TV series, The Brady Bunch. Schwartz, who passed away recently at age 94, said in a 1996 interview that he had always planned the series as a social statement, the message being, "It's one world, and we all have to learn to live with each other."
