AARP Alaska, a weekly television program launched its third season Jan. 19, 2012 kicking off another 13 weeks of all new programs targeted at Alaska’s 50+ population.
Produced and hosted by AARP Director of Communications Ann Secrest, the program airs on public television’s 360 North channel throughout Alaska.
“In Alaska, our membership numbers are very high. Every other person who is 50 or older is an AARP member,” said Secrest. “From financial, consumer, legal, there are many issues we try and tackle in our program that a 50+ Alaskan is dealing with in their life.”
According to Secrest, programs this season range from wills and trusts, health benefits for Alaska’s veterans to today’s top ten investment frauds.
