For most of the 20th Century, the Catskill Mountains were a popular vacation destination for Jewish North-easterners. Every summer, working-class families took the train from New York City or loaded up their cars and headed to bungalow colonies and hotels.
The Borscht Belt was a vibrant cultural center portrayed in movies like Sweet Lorraine, A Walk on the Moon, and of course Dirty Dancing. Producer Binnie Klein visited one of the last remaining resorts from what now may be a bygone era.
