Hi, i'm Sandy Berger with a Quick Video Tip from AARP. Today we are going to talk about a new computer and somethings that come in the box with it. When you get a new computer, the first thing you do is unpack everything that comes in the boxes.

It's important to save those boxes for at least 30 days. If anything goes wrong with your computer, you can pack it up and send it back. If you have a storage room, save them for even longer.

Now once you get in the boxes, you'll find some promotional material. Look through them, if there's something you want, save it, if not throw it in the trash.

The next thing you'll often find are some little brochures about your computer. Look through these, they are important to save.

Next, you'll find software disks for the software installed in your computer. You definitely want to save those.

Another important thing you'll find are system restore disks. If something goes wrong with your computer and you call tech support, they will often tell you to use these disks to restore your computer to the factory settings.

One more important thing. Keep the receipt. You'll find it on or inside your computer's box. Keep the receipt handy since it has good information on it. The type of computer you bought, when you bought it, the price. All important.

Keep all these pieces and store them together, whether it's in a file cabinet, or old shoebox. So if anything happens to your computer, or you need information about it, you'll find it in a handy place.

Thanks! See you on the next Quick Video Tip.
