My grand daughter had her open house for her new school last night. Turns out, the only supplies she will need is a binder and some sheet protectors. I did not go to the open house, but Madeline made sure to tell her new teacher "my mommom is on vacation and will be bringing me to school". I almost cried (yeah, I know!) when my daughter told me that. Here she is, learning about her new school and she is excited to tell her teacher about me, her Mommom! I love my grandkids so much. Of course, my beautiful daughter is the light of my life. I never thought my life would be so full of happiness and blessings.
You are blessed.. I wish we could go back to the days where
parents could be available for the children instead of working
all the time. But, nothing beats the pride of a Grandmother
or Grandfather when it comes to letting the child know how
important and special they are to them.
I do want to share our county sets up a small school bus,
about half the size of the regular, in the Mall, and one can
buy school supplies for the needy and put those supplies
on the bus. I have read also that since the economy is
being what it is, many families are shopping Dollar Stores
to get the children started off. And as you know, the teachers
are buying a lot of supplies out of their own pocket.
Ooops, sort of got off the topic at hand. Sorry...
Hip Hip Horray for Grandmothers.... Go Granny Go....
How lucky are you~ Now that's the kind of school supplies I wouldn't mind having to buy! My school supply days are over though, thank goodness. It's about time the schools start using our tax dollars to benefit our children! I know it does warm the heart to be thought of like that, sweet Madeline..
