About Me

I would love to say something interesting but I am just now beginning to explore my likes and dislikes. I've been divorced since 1986. Dated a little but spent most of my time raising my children, advancing my education and working. I'm a nurse. I work full-time, and have no immediate plans to retire. I have a grand-daughter 17 months as of Aug 2009. I have a married daughter 28 and a married son 25. I just finished building a home in Gulf Shores. Its small two bedroom, and I spend most of my spare time working in the yard. I have no idea what I am doing because I have lived in an apartment/condo for the past 20 years but I suppose I will learn. I recently put out 7 pallets of St Augustine and moved 40,000 pounds of topsoil by myself with the help of a wheelbarrow. I think I am healthy, I don't take any medicine and I perform a lot of physical type work without any problem but as a nurse I know the odds are stacking up. I have a chocolate lab who I love dearly.

Interests:
I like working in the yard especially in cooler months. I like shopping for bargains on sale racks and in thrift shops. I like the beach but not when its really humid out. I like to read but don't spend a lot of time reading. I like Mystery and Tru-Crime. I've been wanting to learn to sail for a very long time, 5 years or more but haven't acted on it as of yet. I like art. I like Chagall, some Picasso, don't care too much for Dali, I like Miro and of course Ansel Adams. I've never been to Europe but would love to visit the art galleries, monasteries, cathedrals. I collected art books for awhile, including illustrated books and illustrated childrens books, but sold my collection when I built close to the beach. I like Early European History. The Middle Ages through the early Renaissance.
