This is my painting of the mountain lion as true guardian of the forest.

A few years ago, I just happened upon a mountain lion on a road nearby (we're near state land in Upstate NY). He/she was in the middle of the road, looked up at my car, and then slipped into the forest...it was quite a distance away from my car and I didn't have my camera...darn! But I didn't realize there was one in the area!
Up in the Adirondacks they were quite common back when I was growing up.
