Born and raised in Arkansas, but I've been in California for over 30 years. Besides California, I have taught in Tennessee, Ohio, Arizona, Nevada, and Texas. I am still teaching middle school music and English--maybe for another 2 years and then I would like to do volunteer work--something with stroke victims. I tried the half marathon with the American Stroke Assoc, but ended up with a stress fracture. It will have to be on a more personal/group level. I have 4 biological children (all in CA) and 3 step sons (two in Ohio and 1 in CA)--all the kids are grown. Currently sharing housing with my daughter, son-in-law, and 3 granddaughters since husband passed in 2006.
Interests:
I like to cook if there's some one in the kitchen with me. Grandkids love it. Physical therapy seems to be the in-exercise for me now. I just had knee surgery again at the end of June--June 30th to be exact. Had TKR in 2006. Feel good as new now. Traveling is my #1 favorite. Even with gas prices where they are now, I still just like to get in the car and drive whether it's to Carlsbad, along PCH, it doesn't matter. I plan to go back to Hawaii hopefully within the year. Oh, most of my shopping is done "online" now. Still a favorite.My Photos (8)
