My family history, like that of many Americans, is complicated.
My father, Gottfried William (Bill) Moser, was born in 1930 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the first natural born American in my family tree. His parents were both immigrants. My paternal grandfather, Paul Moser (for who I am named) was from Bern, Switzerland, while my paternal grandmother, Jeanie Buchanan, hailed from Glasgow, Scotland.
My mother, Tatiana Giorgivna Moser (ne' Chirikov) was born in Pilsen, Czechoslovakia to immigrant White Russian parents, Georgi Evgeniavich Chirikov and Vera Constantinovna Chirikov (ne' Troitskaya). They immigrated to Paris after World War II, and then to America in 1947.
I will post more about my family soon, but suffice it to say that I have extended family all over the place, including Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, Nizhni Novgorod, Russia and Glasgow Scotland.
