About Me

I am passionate about animals, children and the environment. I have four companion dogs that are my furry children. My desire is to learn more effective advocacy for the causes that I am passionate about. One of my goals is to learn to take better care of myself. I want to be a more physically active person, and a more environmentally friendly consumer. Yoga and meditation are practices that I am working on bringing in to my life. I would like to meet like minded people with similar values and interests

Interests:
Another one of my goals is to go hiking in the mountains by the spring. I am working towards the endurance and weight loss necessary to accomplish this. I like to go for a bicylcle ride and walk my dogs. Reading is very important to me, so that I can become an empowered person.

Hello Vetmom; I live in the great Pacific Northwest (Renton, Washington south of Seattle) and hiking was one of my favorite activities until I was pieced back together several years ago. I made it up Mt. Rainier one year with a couple other buddies, at the very top of No Name Peak you could see everything, watch avalanche activity and just enjoy being 'up on the mountain'. It is beautiful here. But I have been in Tennessee and I recall the beauty there as well. Originally from Ohio Valley, West Virginia border I have always loved the hills, valleys and water. Now I have all of it and the mild weather. I am starting a new job this morning, a temporary 6 month assignment for Homeland Security so I may not be posting as much on here as I was before. I like dogs, but mostly have been a cat person. I had two black lab pups at one time, I called them 'the boys' and they were such fun. I learned that if I want to keep my slosher boots never to set them out on the porch at night if the boys are outside. I found one small scrap of a boot the next morning! Bad boys. Nice seeing you on here. My daughter just sent me a Wii Fit with Yoga and I have been using that lately. I lost a pound the first week! Good to meet you. Aciana

Hi VetMom!
I am delighted to meet you. I have two dogs. I did high intensity animal advocacy for 3 years in North Carolina. I sponsored many homeless dogs, and hundreds of volunteer hours in an animal shelter. I like to workout at the gym, go for nature hikes, and do yoga stretching at home. I find it is important to set aside time each day to love myself. Doing physical activity that I enjoy is one way I love myself.

I look forward to sharing our common interests.

Hi VetMom.....thanks for writing to me....how was your transformation to TN? Have you been here for long? You mentioned you have four dogs...what kinds are they? I have a short-haired German Pointer named Magpie and a cat name Nilla the Hun...they like to sleep together and are good buddies...don't know what I'll do when Mag's goes (she is now 15 and has a brush with being put down about a month ago...is now on "Kidney Function" food and is acting like a six year old!!!! Nilla is going on eight....he's nuts...LOL. I live in a three bedroom, two full bath home on an acre of land (the back is fenced in)...I will be selling when I paint the inside....going to Phoenix for my health and wellbeing....! Was there in the mid 80's and again just last winter for a few weeks...I know I can handle the dry heat and dry cold there much better than the humid heat and humid cold out here in TN...ah, well....

Hope you are doing well.....take good care of yourself...
