The love, prayers, voicemails, emails, flowers, plants, words of encouragement & support received were very much appreciated by the family. It means so much to all of us to know that you are there for us during our time of need.
In Kathleen's honor, I have one additional request to ask of you. Please call your doctor and schedule a colonoscopy now. Colon cancer screening is typically not suggested by your doctor until the age of 50. However, more than 13,000 colorectal cancer cases are diagnosed each year in people under the age of 50. I am asking that each of you take action and schedule a colonoscopy now. Don’t wait. Colon cancer typically has no symptoms until it is in Stage 4 which then it has spread beyond the colon and is difficult to treat. My sister was diagnosed on January 2, 2007. It was only 1 year and 15 days later that she lost her battle at the young age of 48.
