I believe in modesty and humility, however there is a position of superior modesty, which commands respect.  From truth comes dignity and honor.  Is the truth so threatening that a lie needs to be created?  Dignity and honor is the foundation of self-esteem.  With self-esteem you have a presence of commanding respect.  When you are given respect you are handed true power.  Empowerment cannot be taken, only given.

Empowerment happens when we define our relationships, which begin from a strong sense of self, clear identity, direction and truth. You are then given respect.  Power is then freely given in trust and with a clear understanding!  This empowerment is so fragile that it can never be taken for granted.  One must work to protect truth, identity, honesty and respect.

"Anti" anything is not empowering, it takes away from and sets limitations.  Empowerment is not about eliminating our relationships or imposing ourselves upon each other or subjugating others.  If power is manipulated it does not last because it is not based upon truth.  Many times people have a false sense of power due to intimidation and fear.  However, that is not true power, it is only temporary because it breeds contempt and unhappiness.

When you are given true empowerment you can uphold truth and justice in the world.  Justice begins from within an individual and how they learned to interact with the world. Knowledge is the key.  Individuals with the knowledge of truth and justice form a community.  When like minds come together it can be truly a powerful force, but it all begins with the individual.

Hi Starz,

I have tried to post a new topic; but, it doesn't work. This is what I would like to say: This morning I went to SaveMart to get some cat food, tomatos, squash etc. When I came out of the store there was a man on a bike with three wheels. He had a cart on the back. There was a dog in the cart--Austrailian Shephard dog with the name of Bear. Bear is 16 years old and has trouble walking so his friend takes him for his morning walk this way. I petted Bear--he has warm, velvety, ginger hair. He has a collar with tags and a place to attach the lease.

What a kind gentleman to do that for his dog. I am touched by things like that. You don't come across too many people that are that caring

Starz,

I really enjoyed your Journal. Self esteem is very important. A sense of personal value that relies on what you know of yourself and not what others would have you believe. Based on self examination and as you say knowledge. I think this has always been a stumbling block for me. Defining myself based on what I know of myself and what I believe. In fact it is a process I am working through now. Have you always been strong? Do you recall a dramatic turning point that put you on a path to your strength? As I analyze my life and the events I hope I am getting closer. Thanks for sharing your journal.
