About Me

Mid-50's, daughter/25 living in Chicago, soon to be Boston to complete Masters degree; son/28 living with wife in San Diego, hope to move to Kauai. Used to have 2 dogs; now 5 cats & I live on 13 acres surrounded by cattle & horses here in Williamson Co. Texas. If everything comes together within a few years, I will live nearby in a log cabin that friends & I build with our own hands. Until 2002 I'd been a vegetarian for 15 years; but during & since an Alaskan cruise I've added occasional fish to my diet. Am into alternative healings: enjoy massage, Reiki, accupuncture, Touch for Health, kinisiology. I'm also interested in Native American traditions, enjoy going to pow wows, etc. Currently work as Corrections Officer.

Interests:
Favorite pasttime is reading. After divorce I'd gained weight til I weighed over 200# but since joining a gym & on-line weight loss program, am almost at goal weight. Now I go to gym, participate in spin classes, yoga & am about to learn clogging with a group of people. Used to play softball in my younger days, love ping pong, enjoy tennis at probably an intermediate level (although I don't have much of a serve). I've volunteered with animal groups, Habitat for Humanity--both in PA & TX

Hi Sue,
This is the group"Staying Fit After 50". I see that you love animals. We have one cat named"Jeeter" in our household. Did have a cocker spaniel for 14 years, but had to have him put to sleep about 4 years ago. I have never replaced him.I am trying to stay at 130, but am 10 pounds over that now, but am determined to get it off

What group am I being welcomed into--the "staying fit after 50" one?
I've been CO for 8 months & interview next week for an Office Specialist Sr-Acct position so I can get out of here. It's not for me either, & as my Lt. so eloquently put it, "You're too nice for this position." Hoping to leave soon.
