Yesterday was my maternal grandmother's birthday, she would have been 102.  I miss her so much  She died ten years ago.  My grandfather walked out and left her (very early in the marriage) with two young daughters to raise.  She never dated, never remarried, to her "marriage" was for life.  She had to work to support hersef and the girls, so she placed the girls with family while she worked.  Maybe it wasn't the ideal situation, or thing to do, but it was her only option.

For years I thought she was a nurse, only to realize after her death she was not...she was a HouseMother at a local nursing school.  I remember our visits when I was child.  She loved to read to me, we would often take long walks around the grounds and she taught me the basics of embroidery and crochett.  She tried to teach me how to tat..but I was too impatiant for that.  But I still have some of her work...and I love to get it out and think of her as her fingers worked the stitches.  I was the only girl child for over ten years so I felt very lucky...the boys weren't THAT interested in things Gramma was doing!!!

She never had a mean spirited thing to say about ANYONE.  Not even my grandfather.   She carried and kept up to date a life insurance policy on him, and the worst she ever said was "I'll get even, I'll outlive him and collect on his insurance!"  And, She DID!!  Of course the policy was not worth very much...but she collected!  GOD BLESS YOU, GRAMMA!"

Here's wishing you a HAPPY BIRTHDAY, and I'll see you when I get to Heaven.  Have a story ready to read to me.

I love taking pictures, so it was only natural that I would advance into the world of video!  Yes, I have two large video camcorders, but they are big and bulky so I don't use them very often.

I was flipping through the tv channels one day and came across HSN (LOL) showing a very small camcorder called the Flip Ultra.  I have never bought from HSN..but just had to have this little camera!  I can not say enough about this gem.  It is so simple to use and does not require any software disks to upload to my computor.

I wanted to upload some video to this site I shot while sharing a Thanksgiving dinner with my senior family...but alas, the film is too large for this format.  From now on...I'll shoot shorter segments!  They are all such wonderful people I can't resist taking their pictures and shooting videos when I'm with them!

I'll be taking a cruise in February, so stand by for some film from that also.
