From sacats22 to lady67 jacobirose rheumatoid a

lady67: my rheumatoid arthritis was controlled but isn't now.  I have quite a bit of stiffness, pain,& fatigue.  I see my rheumy on Mch 28 & I think he can get control of it with a biologic.  But they are really expensive. He's talked to me about Enbrel & Humira.  I can get 4 mos. of Enbrel free but after that it has co-payment of $350. a mo which is pretty stiff.  Are you on a biologic?  Which one?  How much is it?  I'm glad you can play the piano even though you have some deformity in one of your hands.  Sounds like your are getting along pretty well with your RA especially since you've had it for 10 yrs.  Gives me hope since I've only had for 2 years.  Nice talking with you.

ellen55, thanks for your comments. I think I have OA too but not fibromyalgia . I understand that fibro. makes you really tired, more so than RA. I'm on disability too for mental & nervous reasons rather than physical reasons. I'll let you know how I made out. I see my rheumy day after tomorrow. I'ts been seven & half mos. since I've seen him. I had a nice easter. sacats22

I've been using enbrel for a year now. It has helped some. My rheumy says that a third will go into remission, a third will not get any relief & the other third is like me....controlled but with minor flares. I'm still pretty stiff but still moving! I also have OA & fibromyalgia so that really doesn't help things. I'm disabled so I don't have that expense thank god! I was diagnosed about 4 yrs. ago after having surgery for spinal stenosis. I do think that trying the enbrel, etc. is a good idea. There's a chance that it could make a big difference for you. It actually works pretty quickly too...2 wks. to 3 months to see results.
have a great easter
