I managed to live around and between the 54 hours I work each week. Sounds crazy but I am addicted to the overtime. When I am not building scopes I am moving furniture around my little home, or feeding someone. I have projects lined up to sew and needlepoint, stacks of books to read, racks of colored paper to draw on with my granddaughter. This weekend we are moving my daughter out of her 3BR to a 2BR. She is downsizing due to the divorce

Does your daughter live near by? I have been through divorces with all three of my children. There is light at the end of the tunnel and two are now in what seems to be solid marriages and relationships. Before we, as parents, went through this with our children, I never realized how it all impacted everyone. It does.
On a lighter note, what type of books do you read? I am a reader too, with a mix of non-fiction as well as fiction. Reading "The Coastliners" by Joanne Harris (she also wrote Chocolat, from which I assume the movie was created but I haven't read that one or seen the movie. I even read seed catalogs.. love Park's Seeds and Territorial (it is out of Cottage Grove, Oregon and more for the western side of the Cascades but also works for here most of the time. I do a lot of "feeding" for various people plus family members and esp. in the summer/fall sharing the garden produce. Also volunteer at the local library when possible, really feel at peace there and that I am also helping others

Hello,
Very comfy the days have been. Time spent in the garden, general life, and back to reading again. Today in the afternoon are two soccer games to attend, back to back fortunately, and a birthday celebration later.
Are you working, retired or just tired? Love your Good Morning sign. What goes on in your life?

I agree, traveling between Goldendale and Toppenish is hazardous. My husband used to be the worst culprit for passing on those narrow roads and curves but he has changed his ways since he turned 50. My Dad didn't want to get any older and stopped at 36. I am his youngest daughter and when I turned 36 I told him he better bump it up a little or I was leaving him behind! LOL
Dad passed when he was 63. Maybe there was something to his method because he was the youngest 63 I ever met

How is your weekend going? It's coolish here, and I feel an early fall coming. All those pumpkins, gourds, and squashes in the garden need time to ripen more. Since it's Sept. it is time to get with the exercise program and start walking more. Just hard to find time to put it on the schedule and make myself do it. How is your life going? Anne

Hi Anne,
It's been warm here and dry. Too hot for me. We need rain desperately. The trees are so stressed that the leaves are falling already. Hopefully, we'll get some Wed., Thurs. and Friday.
Life has been busy this summer. Lots of cookouts and festivals. Should start to slow down now. I should finally be able to get some reading done. I love fall/winter the best. Had enough of brats and burgers. Hope you're having a good weekend.

Hi There,
Loved your Fourth of July poster. Reading "Someone Knows My Name" by Lawrence Hill. Very good, sort of a "Roots" type of book starting in Africa in the 1750's. Sad but good I guess. We are in harvest and I have been way too busy with that, garden, grands (have twins coming in Dec) and kids. It's summer, and rather warm, in the 90;s or upto the 100's daily with 10 day forecast to be the same. Always more to do than I get done at the end of the day. Thanks for the email. I just haven't visited much in the AARP internet. Always enjoy reading the diff. groups.
