"We Are All Special Friends In This Community"

When several of us decided to start a community "Special Friends Group" to showcase someone that exemplifies what a true friend is, we didn’t know how well it would be received.  We did know that for the most part everyone in this community respects and cares a great deal for everyone.  I hope that I speak for the majority of members - this community serves a great service for all.  For some who come to this community it may be the only contact they may have, they have come to the right place, this community is full of spirit and souls that will go above and beyond to show they care and will listen and a extra bonus the community gives out free smiles.   For those and the rest of the community I have found an abundance of caring, loving, and unselfish members  (after this I will not refer to members- it will be friends) friends in this vast community.  This community represent all, it doesn’t matter what the age, race, religion, or standing in any community.  We are all the same.  I have since childhood wondered why anyone would pick and choose by any means of discrimination.  (please note that we should have all realized this is wrong - you can see the word "crime" right in the middle of the word, that is a wrongful act).  This group won’t be recognising differences in anyone.  What we will recognise is the person that always puts you and everyone else before him or herself.  He/She is our comrade, patron,crony, companion, supporter and advocate.  This person is the exceptional - above the ordinary.  We celebrate this uniqueness of the "Special Friend."  This community is here to nominate who they feel has demonstrated all the attributes that is and makes a person stand above all others.  "THIS PERSON FINDS PEACE IN ANY STORM, FINDS LOVE WHEN THERE IS DISCONTENT, AND HAS A HEART THAT SHOWS NOT ONLY LOVE BUT HAS COMPLETE EMPATHY FOR ALL FELLOW HUMANS."***   We are all moderators of this group.  We will each be responsible for the welfare of this group.  This group is for "Special Friends", and we each in this community are "Special Friends" because of who we are and what we do, and being apart of this means you do care about all of your/our friends.  We will all be equal in this group.  We will work as one/group.  I am very proud to be a part of such a wonderful loving community.  Each and everyone is so unique and you blend it all together and you have one healthy dose of humanity with a spirit that is ever growing and smiles on all faces.  I use Mark Twains  "Adventures of Huckleberry Finn."  All the characters in that story could be the friends in this community.  We have everyone of those character listed in this community, we just have different names.  I think that one/all of you will recognize who would/could be Tom Sawyer, Aunt Polly, Mary, Huckleberry Finn, Joe Harper, Injun Joe, Muff Potter, Judge Thatcher and his daughter Rebecca (Becky), Widow Douglas, Mr. Walters and or the Rev. Sprague.  Each and every character is in this community.  We are off on adventures like Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn but ours will be even more fun, we’re not reading it we are living/doing it.   My heart swelled when I saw how many of Michael’s friends responded and the wonderful things they had to say.  I already knew for myself what I felt about Michael and I knew that he had a lot of friends (bless his soul he was adding more friends faster than we could message to let his friends know about his day.  I put in a quick prayer that Michael not take on any more friends until we had gotten out the message to over 300 friends of his.  I haven’t been back to see what his friend list is now but if I were a betting woman I’d said he’s closing in on the whole community.)  In the future when we all know who we want to nominate you can let someone in the group know and each of you will be responsible to let me, Jen43, Kinge, Tessen, BJ, nyandn - anyone of them know.  All nominee’s will have to be in by the end of the 2nd Sunday of each month.  Then the ones who were just named will see who the nominee’s are and read the profiles that have been submitted.  We will then take a tally.  (Remember we are all new at this and learning as we go. ) Since there is not mass messaging we have decided this will be our first change.  No more messaging until AARP has given us that feature.  But what we will do is let the ones mentioned above know, this will change each month so we all share in group duties.  If there is a tie we will let everyone in the group know so a vote can remedy who will be chosen as "Special Friend of the Day."  Then what we all will do is watch for midnight or after on the 3rd Saturday go to "Special Friend For The Day Group" or to the all journals that have been posted and you will see who was chosen as the next "Special Friend For The Day" and at that point start posting as was done with Michael.  A good example of when midnight is - New Year’s Eve to New Years is the same and the eve of the "Special Day." I do hope that this answers some of your questions, if you have others post them in the question forum in our group.  Don’t be shy - anyone that is a part of this group can answer, or several can.  We’re working as one.  I  want to tell the community that this group extends an open invitation to all to join our group.  This group is for the entire community.  Come and join and have some fun.
