My Journals (13)

My dog Tinkerbell is a special dog for me. She walked into my life as a Birthday Present. She covered my face with kisses and we are joined at the hip. Well she went into labour at midnight on July 8th.I was up all night with her. She had 5 altogether but lost one at birth the head was stuck and finally it came out but too little too late it had died . but the other puppies are quite noisy but they are adorable. She is very good being a Momma forthe first time. She is two years old and very sweet & Loving. She doesn't want to leave her babies.I make her go out to potty and she runs all over when she goes out when she is done she is right at the door to go back into her babies. She sure doesn't like the snow but she hurries to do her business. She is a very loving dog. I just lov her to pieces.

Cater thought it was neat at first til he was told that the patch has to stay on.The Doctor wants to try the patch & eye glasses for a few months. He must wear the patch for 6 hours a day. He will get his new glasses next week and they of course are Spongebob Squarepants. They are really cool. Carter really loves Spongebob. He is always watching that  program and I bought him the DVD. When he got home from his appointment on March 2 he had to put the patch on. Needless the first day he went through 6 patches. He kept taking them off.He was trying to watch tv but kept saying he couldn't see. When he was runing through the house he crashed into the wooden kitchen chair. He didn't see it.

My Granson Carter is three years old. He has a lazy eye. He went to the eye doctor to have it checked out. The doctor said his eye is movimng so fast that he can't focus right to see. He has to have surgery to fix the muscle behind the eye so he will able to see right. He also said he never seen a eye so bad as carters' They have to pop out the eye to fix it. We all are worried now cause he could go blind in that eye .I would like to have you pray for him. He goes to the Doctor's again on March 2 to check his eye and make a appointment for the surgery. After his surgery he will have to wear glasses .

It snowed all day yesterday and more snow is due here on Monday and Christmas Eve and snow for Christmas day it's been a while since we had a white christmas. My dogs Bones & Tinkerbell ran out into the snow and Bones loves to run and play. Where Tinker bell walkes gingerly over the snow as if it were egg shells. She hates the snow. Her feet get cold. Tinkerbell is my Chauahua.I put coats on my dogs and want to keep them warm. Since I wear a coat, I know they get cold just like me. I know I mispelled that word. Bones is a small boarder collie. He loves to play and snow always ends up on his nose. He looks like he is trying to make a snowball hahaha. The ground is covered.in a white blanket and you can certainly see the footprints of the dog and I everything else is untouched and just beautiful. We got alsmost 9 inches of the white stuff. With it so cold each snow fall just adds more to what we already have. I like looking at the snow but hate to travel in it.It sure is a heavenly site.

I remember when I was a Kid we would be in bed by 8 Pm. We thought that Santa brought all the presents. My mother and grandma decorated the tree wrapped presents and dad would be there to put together anything they needed to be put togther. They would be up all night and several times we managed to wake up just before they would be coming to bed. We were lways told we had to wake daddy up before we could go down stairs. My mother would head back down and lit the tree. We would wake dad up and he would go down and we were told we could go down.We were happy with what we got. We didn't get much. but we were happy. We would listen to stories grandma would tell . Sometimes grandma would sneak off to bed after all the presents were opened and mommy would watch us as we played with our toys. She would sneak off after grandma woke up. and grandma would start making our dinner. we would go outside and play til we were called in for lunch. and we would once again play with our toys. We would watch tv and play. When dinner came we hate and played again til the time we had to go to bed. We would hear mom tell grandma Thank God It's over for another year.

TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS,
HE LIVED ALL ALONE,
IN A ONE BEDROOM HOUSE MADE OF
PLASTER AND STONE.

I HAD COME DOWN THE CHIMNEY
WITH PRESENTS TO GIVE,
AND TO SEE JUST WHO
IN THIS HOME DID LIVE.

I LOOKED ALL ABOUT,
A STRANGE SIGHT I DID SEE,
NO TINSEL, NO PRESENTS,
NOT EVEN A TREE.

NO STOCKING BY MANTLE,
JUST BOOTS FILLED WITH SAND,
ON THE WALL HUNG PICTURES
OF FAR DISTANT LANDS.

WITH MEDALS AND BADGES,
AWARDS OF ALL KINDS,
A SOBER THOUGHT
CAME THROUGH MY MIND.

FOR THIS HOUSE WAS DIFFERENT,
IT WAS DARK AND DREARY,
I FOUND THE HOME OF A SOLDIER,
ONCE I COULD SEE CLEARLY.

THE SOLDIER LAY SLEEPING,
SILENT, ALONE,
CURLED UP ON THE FLOOR
IN THIS ONE BEDROOM HOME.

THE FACE WAS SO GENTLE,
THE ROOM IN SUCH DISORDER,
NOT HOW I PICTURED
A UNITED STATES SOLDIER.

WAS THIS THE HERO
OF WHOM I’D JUST READ?
CURLED UP ON A PONCHO,
THE FLOOR FOR A BED?

I REALIZED THE FAMILIES
THAT I SAW THIS NIGHT,
OWED THEIR LIVES TO THESE SOLDIERS
WHO WERE WILLING TO FIGHT.

SOON ROUND THE WORLD,
THE CHILDREN WOULD PLAY,
AND GROWNUPS WOULD CELEBRATE
A BRIGHT CHRISTMAS DAY.

THEY ALL ENJOYED FREEDOM
EACH MONTH OF THE YEAR,
BECAUSE OF THE SOLDIERS,
LIKE THE ONE LYING HERE.

I COULDN’T HELP WONDER
HOW MANY LAY ALONE,
ON A COLD CHRISTMAS EVE
IN A LAND FAR FROM HOME.

THE VERY THOUGHT
BROUGHT A TEAR TO MY EYE,
I DROPPED TO MY KNEES
AND STARTED TO CRY.

THE SOLDIER AWAKENED
AND I HEARD A ROUGH VOICE,
’SANTA DON’T CRY,
THIS LIFE IS MY CHOICE;

I FIGHT FOR FREEDOM,
I DON’T ASK FOR MORE,
MY LIFE IS MY GOD,
MY COUNTRY, MY CORPS.’

THE SOLDIER ROLLED OVER
AND DRIFTED TO SLEEP,
I COULDN’T CONTROL IT,
I CONTINUED TO WEEP.

I KEPT WATCH FOR HOURS,
SO SILENT AND STILL
AND WE BOTH SHIVERED
FROM THE COLD NIGHT’S CHILL.

I DIDN’T WANT TO LEAVE
ON THAT COLD, DARK, NIGHT,
THIS GUARDIAN OF HONOR
SO WILLING TO FIGHT.

THEN THE SOLDIER ROLLED OVER,
WITH A VOICE SOFT AND PURE,
WHISPERED, ’CARRY ON SANTA,
IT’S CHRISTMAS DAY, ALL IS SECURE.’

ONE LOOK AT MY WATCH,
AND I KNEW HE WAS RIGHT.
’MERRY CHRISTMAS MY FRIEND,
AND TO ALL A GOOD NIGHT.’

This poem was written by a Marine.

The following is his request. I think it is reasonable.....

PLEASE. Would you do me the kind favor of sending
this to as many people as you can? Christmas will be coming
soon and some credit is due to our U.S. service men and
women for our being able to celebrate these festivities.
Let’s try in this small way to pay a tiny bit of what we
owe. Make people stop and think of our heroes, living and
dead, who sacrificed themselves for us. Please, do your
small part to plant this small seed

My Grandson Carter is so bad I could just scream. He is only three years old His Parents let him get away with alot of things but when I have him he  is punished. I don't let him get away with anything. You would think he would remember being sat in the chair and not allowed to watch tv. I wish He would learn to behave. He doesn't. I think he goes out of his way to be bad. He has a dog and I have one . Well he kicks them both and bites them.and really hurts them they are always yelping from him hurting them.He goes into the closets and pulls things out. He goes in the bathroom and gets into his mothers' perfume and spays it all around. He goes into his brothers' things a breaks it or he ruins things on his brother. He yells at you toput his cartoons on when you're watching Tv. His Mother calls him her child from hell.

When I was little my Dad bought us two baby ducks and 2 baby chicks. We had a spare room and we made a box sothey could all share it. and we put food and water there. Well my cousin came over she picked up the one duck and didn't realize that she strangled it. That night the other duck peeped all night looking for his buddy. The next day my dad went and got another one. well that duck was very happy. My cousin wasn't allowed to pick them up any more. As we grew up we got a lot more pets. My Dad used to live on a farm he loved it. Guess you can't take the country boy out of the country.Even though we lived in a small town out side of Philadelphia. Later we moved out of there and into the country just around the corner from his old farm.Such memories are never forgotton
