My Journals (3)

My husband of eight years has never let go of his first wife.  They have gone several years without contact even though they have three children 14+ years of age.  Their oldest son is the one who was the go between.  During a recent separation my husband reunited briefly with his ex.  Now that we have reconciled he wants to continue his relationship with her but her motives are not pure.  Am I being unreasonable by not agreeing to this arrangement?

Bless you. I have dealt with all of the feelings of anger, frustration, and entrapment that you express. I have been blessed with a loving and supportive husband. His family was kind enough to embrace this new addition to our all ready "blended" family. Still, all of our extended family lives miles from us; my little one's Dad (my son) is in Korea; so we have had 100% of our time committed to this child's rescue. It's a sacrifice, it's an adjustment. But, my husband constantly reminds me that the day will come when she (and her Dad) will "rise up and call me blessed." The same is true for you. Please know that this is every much a calling on your life as it would be if you were called to a foriegn mission field. You are doing God's work! (Whoever did this for the least of these...did it for me...) If you ever need a lift, please visit my website www.silverlininginspirations.com.
