Michael, keep this bunch of balloons "in the corner" LOL so that when you feel low this week, they will remind you of us and the friends you have here! God Bless My Friend!

I am sorry if this is a duplicate but I am having some difficulty posting comments to your journal. When my brother had radiation on his tongue, he too, lost some taste bud sensations. At that point he focused more on the pleasurable textures of foods, particularly smooth.
I hope you sense the support of the on-line community.
Take care....hope, faith, courage, love

Michael:

It is only possible to make a comment about what you have written as I have check the Cancer Survivor Forum and did not see where you posted any messages there. Of course, with these 84 year old eyes, I will admit that I miss things.

Just keep up your spirits and thank GOD that you have a very supportive wife. My wife has been with me for 51 years and I know I would not have made it without her. She is presently by my side as I am going through my second battle with cancer. I had surgery in 1990 and all was quiet until late 2002 when there were signs it had popped up again. It was brought under control until late 2007 and it is so much fun to have certain tests and then having to wait to see whether the different procedures have resulted in subduing the little varmit or varmits. Anyway, since it is only possible to submit a comment to you, have faith in God and give thanks for the great wife you have

Hi Michael,
As you requested... the words on my card.

The word "Daddy" is not defined by whether
or not a man has a biological child.
You can never produce a child and be a Daddy,
Likewise you can have 20 kids and never be a "Daddy."

A Daddy is a man who cares for a child's
both physical and emotional needs.
He puts the child's wants and needs ahead of his own.
A true Daddy is hard to come by,
but a truly special thing.

Hope you had a marvelous Father's Day!
