Filling out a profile makes me wonder how John Dillenger would have felt if he hung his own picture on the post office wall!
I am eclectic in all aspects of life from music and friends, to work and hobbies. I've dug ditches, fixed pinballs-juke boxes-computers, as well as managed massive data bases. I am the neighborhood fix it guy from electrical to plumbing to bicycles and cars and computers. When you fix a kids bike and they smile and then turn around and wave as they head down the driveway is just plain damn cool. My interests are as varied as the imagination can express. I can have a conversation with a political leader or a CEO (neither can be trusted), as well as hop on a Harley and ride with the group (THESE people I trust) and be comfortable.
I'm "outside the box" and would not have it any other way. NOT a couch potato! Let's put ten bucks in the tank and see what new sites and people we can discover. Believe it or not, I'm a guy that likes to shop even if we just go window shopping, and am an avid people watcher. Seeing the little ones running and jumping ( or crawling and falling!) in the play court at the mall will bring a smile to my face and a joy in my heart every time.
Raising my adopted son to see him go off to college is the ultimate!
I hope to find/rescue a Weiner Dog to come and share my place with. Had one as my first dog at seven years old and wanted another ever since.
Interests:
I love Little League and Babe Ruth Baseball. I sit on the Board here in town plus coach and I am the Senior League Director. I've driven across three states to watch the boys play, would not walk across my lawn to see the pros play.
Everyone says I'm a great cook. Put on some great jazz and or blues in the player in the kitchen or on the deck and I?m in! Gardening is a true joy, it is so neat to go out to the gardens and bring in some veggies for lunch and some flowers for the table. Also, I don't kill things, although I love the outdoors. Everything on this planet has as much right to live as we humans do. Some religions insist that only humans have souls. How Arrogant!!!
Watching the Packers is great fun, but that is the extent of my sports interest unless it's any sport that has kids playing it. Kids are the coolest, pros are NOT. I like to play golf when I can.
Music:
OMG, everything to tell the truth. Grew up with music all around me. It really depends on my mood or your request if visiting.
I have not listened to a Classical piece that I have not at least liked or truely enjoyed. Glen Miller and Benny Goodman among others certainly proved that with a lone instrument and a great mind some of the most wonderful music can be written for big bands up to 45 members at once and the music will endure for all time, and then the rebel in me comes out and I remember Joan Baez, Bob Dylan, John Lennon, Lynard Skinner, and more recent artists like John Mellencamp, and The Boss!!
The eighties unfortunatly left many of us empty. The music was unimaginable, without soul, without a story to tell. Thanks Reagon, you putz!
The nineties brought cross over Country to the forefront and it was big. So many great artists, and then started the downward spin when a little know createn by the name of Billy Ray Cirus showed up and reminded us of the saying that if you don't open your mouth no one will know that you are a fool.
The new century is evolving, the Millenium bug did not appear and wipe clean the face of the earth. There are many new and fantastic artists out there, the music is fresh and exciting and I love it.
Turn it on, turn it up, gather family and friends with eats and drinks and live life
Movies:
Again, depends on the mood. I think we have been fortunate to witness in our time the accension from broadcast B/W television to the super IMAX 80' Digital presentations of today.
At 52, I am not ashamed to admit that most Disney/Pixar animated films are some of my favorites. The work they do is fantastic. So I'm still a kid, deal with it.
Books:
OK, this is weird. I love History as well as Sci Fi. Lookin' both forward and back as I cross thru life
Television:
YUK!
Except PBS, the Discovery Channel, Nasa, the Learning Channel, History Channel, and maybe just maybe.....................................the Green Bay Packer Television Network in the winter. Boston Legal, gotta watch it, do not hit a power pole in the area when that is on. If you do, I will find your insurance company, tell them I saw the whole accident, lie my teeth off, and you will BURN
