I have been involved with health insurance, Medicare and Medicaid since 1973. I have seen just about every aspect of health insurance and know it inside and out. I have also written position papers, articles and journal entries on the subject of health insurance reform. In addition I have also given many speeches and have addressed many community groups on the subject. Currently I am employed as a marketing representative for a Medicare Advantage "special needs" plan
Interests:
As my "handle" indicates two of my major interests are sailing and playing golf. Another hobby I have is outdoor photography and I have many prize winners in my photo collection spanning almost forty years and more than 10,000 pictures. They range from Maine to Hawaii and from Mount St. Helens to Jamaica and many places in between. I live in northeastern Ohio which has a wealth of photo opportunities along with a Great lake for sailing. I also enjoy home winemaking and this region also has many fine wineries and grapes
Music:
I am a dedicated "parrothead" and have been to many Jimmy Buffett concerts. I never get tired of hearing "Margaritaville", but choosing one Jimmy Buffett song as a favorite is like a child choosing a favorite in a candy store. I also enjoy listening to classical music, some jazz, music from the 60s and 70s and reggae music. Other favorites that I like are the Beach Boys, motown, the Eagles and Mannheim Steamroller. You will find just about every genre (except rap and heavy metal) in my CD collection
Movies:
No doubt about it - my all time favorite movies are The Godfather series. Others are the Lord of the Rings trilogy and Star Wars series. I also like stupid comedies with Animal House my favorite in that genre. Other comedy favorites I never get tired of watching are Caddyshack, Porky's, The Mask, Blazing Saddles and the Vacation series with Chevy Chase (with Christmas Vacation being the best of that bunch)
Books:
My favorite author is James Michner. I have read just about all of his books with Centennial and Texas being my favorites of his. Jimmy Buffett is also a good author and his recent "A Salty Piece of Land" is great summer escapist reading. However most of the time, I read non fiction. I am currently reading Barack Obama's "The Audacity of Hope" since I believe he will be our country's next president. Another on my reading short list is Tom Brokaw's "Boom"
Television:
I don't watch that much television, but my all time favorite show has to be 'NYPD Blue" with "LA Law" coming in a close second. Both shows were gritty and realistic as well as entertaining. My favorite sitcom would have to be "Home Improvement". My favorite television show currently on the air probably is "Boston Legal", however I find "Swingtown" to be quite entertaining since I distinctly remember being married in the 1970s and knew some "swingers" back then
