I review albums for "AARP: The Magazine" and write Music for Grownups column for AARP.org. I've been writing about music for nearly three decades. I've been a senior editor at Spin magazine and wrote the magazine's World Beat column. I've also written for Rolling Stone, The New York Times, Musician, Blender, Tracks, The Village Voice, and many other publications. I was a senior writer for the book Alt.Culture: An A-to-Z Guide to the '90s and co-authored The Phish Book with the Vermont quartet. I live in Brooklyn with my wife and two daughters.
I appear twice a week on AARP.org. New record reviews are published every Tuesday and my column, which might contain an interview, concert review, a bunch of YouTube links, or something completely different, appears every Thursday
