About Me

Until 2004, I lived on the far North Side of Chicago, Illinois, just South of Lincolnwood. I have two daughters; one lives in Chicago and the other in New York City. My eldest graduated from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. The other graduated from Fordham U. in New York. I live in Hatfield, Wisconsin, now - population 50. Quite a change from Chicago. Hey! No traffic problems. I'm an hour East of LaCrosse and an hour South of Eau Claire. My house is next to the woods and I have many visitors. The deer come to dine around 4:30 p.m. every day. The turkeys, chipmonks, squirrels, fish and birds come without a regular schedule. None of them are good tippers. When I arrived in Hatfield, I immediately went to work and finished writing my Orphan Train Trilogy; Wildflowers, Bridie's Daughter and Secrets. Check out Noonan'sNovels at http://orphantraintrilogyauthor.blogspot.com The vast majority of the U.S. population does NOT know about the orphan trains that moved homeless children from New York City to the West and Southwest to find new homes. Between 1854-1929 over 200,000 children were relocated this way. Some found loving homes; others did not. Good news: To date, all Book Reviews have rated my trilogy Five Stars, and recently, all three were among ten Finalists in the 2008 Indie Book Awards-Historical Fiction, an International Competition. Book descriptions and Book Reviews can be found under Robert Noonan at Amazon.com and Google, among others of same name. Last winter was bad and the thought of going south in winter is sounding better all the time. You know, a Snowbird or Sandfly. The thought of swimming and outdoor tennis instead of shoveling snow has become appealing. I've had excellent health all my life, but who knows what tomorrow brings

Interests:
As for sports, I love playing tennis. Also, swimming, fishing and snorkeling. The only sports I watch are tennis and the Chicago Bears football. My hobbies and Volunteer work are promoting my novels. I am not a celebrity and I don't have connections, therefore, it's the ugly part of having written books

Music:
I thuroughly enjoy classical art, history (incl. antiques), a good book, classical music and many 70s songs. The Russian composers are my favorite. Their music is filled with passion. Yet, being asked, "What is your favorite composition," or, "What is your favorite work of art," is like being asked, after finishing a bowl of popcorn, "Which was your favorite kernel?" There are too many "Greats" in art and music.

Movies:
My favorite two movies are Dr. Zhivago and Casablanca. A few favorite actors, but won't remember them all sitting here. Therefore, to be fair, I won't mention any

Books:
Favorite books???? That's easy; Wildflowers, Bridie's Daughter and Secrets." I'm serious. http://orphantraintrilogyauthor.blogspot.com

Television:
I mostly watch the news, PBS programs, some sports, Jay Leno, Frazier and Seinfeld. I have never had Cable or Dish. I subscribe to Netflix so I can get what I want, when I want it. It has 75,000 movies, TV shows and Documentaries, including the History Channel programs
